SleepOUT for Youth, Fri. Nov. 28

Over 1000 young people in our city will spend the coldest, darkest, and harshest months of the year with no place to call home. On November 28-29, 2014 we are asking for your help to raise critical funds and valuable awareness for homeless youth. Help us make a difference and come SleepOUT for Youth! On Fri. Nov. 28 we will meet at Dovercourt at 6:30PM and put together our sleeping arrangements in the back field. Bring a sleeping bag, tent, a layer of clothes or whatever items you feel will support you in staying out the entire night. There will be a variety of activities and events throughout the evening to help pass the time. There may even be warm beverages and food to help keep us warm! Heck, there’s even a campfire! On Saturday morning, Nov 29th, we will head inside and enjoy some warm breakfast and drinks. To join or support, go to the Dovercourt sleepout page and select JOIN MY TEAM. Enter in your details and set a personal fund raising goal! Contact Mark at mbond@dovercourt.org with any questions.

The Westboro Brainery

It's time to feed your brain at the Westboro Brainery. http://www.westborobrainery.ca/

The Westboro Brainery offers cool classes to TAKE and TEACH. It is where the community teaches and learns together. The Westboro Brainery classes are short 90mins to 2 hours long, inexpensive, and taught by hobbyists, experts, nerds and academics. The classes offered are mainstream, slightly strange or downright whacky, as long as the subject is interesting to some, a class will run!

This new stream of programming is mostly for adults. Our goal is to offer as many classes as we can every month. We just need teachers and "students". Classes will take place anywhere we can find space in the community!
Check out the website http://www.westborobrainery.ca/ for details on these classes and bookmark it as we will be adding more... frequently!

We are also looking for teachers of all-kinds of things. Do you have a special interest you would like to share? We would love to hear from you. We have a "teach a class" form on the website. Is there something you'd love to know - ask. We will put it out to the community... we are sure someone knows and we can set it up! Fill in the "suggest a class" form.

Join us at the Westboro Brainery. We all have a lot to share.
