summer camps at dovercourt

Make it a Dovercourt Summer

We are dedicated to providing safe, memorable, fun camp experiences to children and youth from across the region. Check out our selection of camp programs to see why Dovercourt is THE place to be in the summer.

Each year, about 80-90% of our summer camp staff return and many are former campers themselves. We are well-known for our high standards when it comes to camp counselors and they are all carefully chosen for their caring attitudes toward children.

Camp Counselors can be spotted in bright blue shirts and receive training on group facilitation, activity animation, and leadership. Team members in purple shirts are part of our Inclusion & Integration system, and work hard to break down barriers to ensure every single child can participate with success. Camp Directors can be found in navy blue shirts and are responsible for the overall supervision and safety of each camper in their group and receive additional training on supervision, risk management, and emergency procedures. Team members in light “baby blue” shirts are Counselors-In-Training and are volunteering to further develop their skills.

Details for 2024 camps are visible in the registration area below.

Please note that not all camps are offered every week and age groups may vary so be sure to confirm you’ve selected the right age group for your child.

Important Registration Information

Please make sure that your child’s profile includes an email address of a parent, phone number, and address. Camp-related information will be sent out by email to this address.

Your child’s profile should also include any allergies or relevant medical information as well as indicate whether they carry an Epi-pen in camp. If your child will require additional support to succeed in camp then please also let us know by checking the “Inclusion Support” checkbox, and sending an email to [email protected] with your child’s name and the camp, and we will arrange a phone call or meeting to assess next steps.

Payments

When booking online, you have the option to pay for the camp(s) in full using a credit card or to pay half now and half later. To split the payment, be sure to select Summer Camp Split Payment on your checkout screen.

New this year: When using the Split Payment feature, 50% of the fee is due at the time of booking, and 50% will be automatically charged to your credit card on June 1, 2024.

You will receive a reminder email on May 1 about the second payment.

Please ensure that your credit card information is up to date in your account prior to June 1, 2024 for the 2nd payment.

Cancellations

If programs are cancelled by Dovercourt (or by provincial or local health authorities), all fees will be refunded in full to the same method of payment.

To cancel or modify a camp registration, please call 613-798-8950 ext. 0 or email [email protected] with your child’s name, the name of the camp, and the date of the camp. Cancellations cannot be done online.

Within 3 weeks (21 days) of a program start, refunds will not be issued other than in extraordinary circumstances, and with medical documentation.

Inclusion & Integration Support

The belief that every child has an equal right to a happy summer camp experience is at the heart of our planning and we remain committed to ensuring a welcoming and inclusive environment. To accomplish this, we rely strongly on the partnership of parents, which begins early on with open communication. Please take the time to make us aware of any medical, behavioural, social, or cognitive differences your child may have at the time of registration. This might include social anxieties, communication barriers, the tendency to run or wander away from the group, or simply requiring additional “body breaks” or extra attention. Our Inclusion team is comprised of dedicated and caring individuals trained in behaviour management strategies and Non-Violent Crisis Prevention and Intervention. We work closely with families to offer various levels of support including 1:1 support workers, low-ratio staffing, camp buddies, and individual accommodation plans. For questions or to discuss your child’s participation in camp, please reach out to [email protected]
