How it works, step by step

Comparison of Registration Methods



Dovercourt ONLINE Registration allows you to register for most (*see exceptions) of our programs using the Internet at anytime of the day or night anywhere that you have internet access. You can also review your current registrations.

Please note that our system is separate from the City of Ottawa's system, so you cannot use your City Barcode & PIN. You can create a new Dovercourt account through our online process.

IIf you have registered at Dovercourt in the past, you have an account. Please phone Customer Service to receive your barcode & PIN # (613-798-8950, ext. 0)

Here's what you'll need:

Client ID:
A unique number for each of our clients (use your Dovercourt ID; you cannot use your City of Ottawa Account ID)
Account PIN:
  This number identifies the entire household account (use your Dovercourt PIN; you cannot use your City of Ottawa Account PIN)

Course No:

  Each course has a unique number that identifies the program and time you have chosen.
Credit Card:
  Your American Express, Master Card or Visa number and expiry date

1. Visit us at www.dovercourt.org to choose your program and locate the Course No.

2. Click the ONLINE Registration Link at the top of each page of the www.dovercourt.org site. If you have trouble with the link, go directly to: http://www.draregister.com/econnect

3. Go to the Programs Tab. Enter your Course No. and verify course and time and click 'ADD'. (You may also search programs by keywords).

4. Enter your Client ID and Account PIN as prompted to sign in.

5. Select the individual to be registered and click 'Update My Basket'. To add another program return to Step 3 or to finish click 'Go To Checkout'.

6. Enter your credit card information and click 'Apply Payment'.

7. Print your receipt for confirmation.

for registration again!

* Exceptions: There are some programs that are unavailable for Online Registration e.g. Group Fitness; programs that have already begun. You may register for these programs at the Centre or by phone.

1. Choose Programs

Browse through the different areas within “Programs”, including Health & Fitness, Aquatics, Recreation, Camps, Childcare & Community Partnership to see all of the programs we offer. Class names & descriptions are provided; age restrictions or prerequisites will be noted. Course No. information will be noted beside each instance of the program if it is a course that is eligible for Online Registration.

2. Pick Dates & Times
• For Aquatics and Health & Fitness programs, go to the “Schedules” page; there you will find pdf format pages (will open with Adobe Acrobat Reader) for the Aquatic Class schedules for Spring/Summer, and printable Health & Fitness schedules.
• For Recreation, childcare & Camp programs, dates & times & (and prices) are noted with the class descriptions.
• Overall session dates are noted on the Customer Service page.

3. Check Prices
• For Aquatics, refer to the Aquatics Course Fees page. Prices vary depending on the length & day of the class.
• For Recreation, prices are given with the class description information.
• For Health & Fitness, pricing options can be found on the Health & Fitness Price Schedule, although the prices for Strength & Conditioning Programs are found with the program descriptions.

4. Register
Read all about registration dates, guidelines & tips on the Registration Info page including our policies on payment, refunds etc. You can register by phone, in person or by printing the registration form (available in pdf format) and faxing or mailing it in after completion. As of July 2, 2002, you can register online by following the link to the Online Registration part of the website.

  A walk-through of our Online Registration

1. Click the "Online Registration" button at the top of every page of the Dovercourt website.

You are in our Online Registration system when you see this purple banner at the top of the page.

2. Click the "Programs" tab


3. On the Programs page you have a choice of search methods.

1. Enter a keyword – for example "dog" – for dog obedience courses


2. Enter a Course number – e.g. #18428 – obtained from our www.dovercourt.org program pages.


3. Browse through all the programs by department by clicking on one of these links.


Example: "I am looking for the Doggy Manner’s course"
Search method 1: Enter "Dog" into keyword field
Search method 2: Obtain course number from www.dovercourt.org/youth_adult.html #18428
Search method 3: Click on "Recreation" and then "Dog obedience"


4. Once you have located your course, click on the title and you will see a screen like this containing details of the program including description, course #, day, times, dates, location and total number of classes in the program.
• The column titled "Avail." indicates how many spots are left in the course.


• If the course is available for online registration there will be an "ADD" button in the Basket.

• If there is a "WAITLIST" button this also indicates the course is full. (Please add your name to the waitlist as we will often add a second course to meet demand).
Note: Online registration is available only until the course begins.

What you Need:
• Client No. (Dovercourt, not City of Ottawa)

• Program No. for 1st and 2nd choice
• Credit card No. & expiry date
What to Do:
Click on ONLINE registration link at www.dovercourt.org
Enter Course No. on Programs page
Click on ADD
Enter Client No. & Account PIN
Select individual for the program then Update My Basket then Go To Checkout
Enter Credit Card Information and Click Apply Payment

IN PERSON What you Need:
• Program choices
• Cash/cheque or credit or debit card

What to Do:
• Line up at Dovercourt customer service desk
DROP OFF/ FAX IN/ MAIL IN

What you need:
Completed form with 1st and 2nd choice
Cheque (Drop Off/ Mail in) or credit card # and expiry
What to Do:
Drop off at Centre
Fax to 613-729-1279
