Physical Literacy

Physical Literacy

Physical literacy is the motivation, confidence, physical competence, knowledge and understanding to value and take responsibility for engagement in physical activities for life. Sport for Life, with Long-Term Athlete Development and physical literacy, represents a paradigm shift in the way Canadians lead and deliver sport and physical activity.

Dovercourt believes that children who have fun playing a sport are more likely to stay active and healthy for their entire lifetime. They also have a better chance of becoming a top athlete. So we strive to make it fun, and make it quality!

Designed properly, childrens’ sport programs can be fun. It can also provide exciting challenges and rich skill development.

We make it fun, challenging and instructive, so that we can see two results:

  • More of our children will stay physically active throughout their lifetime.
  • More of our children will reach the top ranks of amateur and professional competition if they choose the path for elite training.
