Dovercourt Recreation Centre, also known in the summer as “Camp Central”, offers the city’s best variety of camps. Children can spend the whole summer at Dovercourt and not repeat the same camp. Our camps are jam-packed with fun activities including swimming, sports, crafts, special events and guests, trips and more. Activities are age appropriate and guided by amazing staff. Kids will get to know the staff, feel comfortable with the locations and routines. No need to send your child all around the city for variety. Let them spend the summer at “the 'Court”.

Your child can choose from our weekly Theme Camps, a full selection of Specialty Camps as well as our Extreme Camps, Girls Only Camps and Leader in Training program for older children and teenagers.

Registration details available on our online registration site

Theme Camps - Preschool & School Age

Our theme camps take the traditional camp activities of sports, crafts, active games, swimming, special guests and events and give them a thematic twist. Each week features a different theme and activities suited to your child’s age.

Special Needs Integration in Dovercourt Day Camps (pdf)

 Junior Counsellor Program.

Click for an application (pdf).

This program has been in place since 1998 and today a number of staff were employed as Junior Counsellors. Junior Counsellors are used throughout our camp programs to assist in program delivery and supervision. In return, we provide them with the critical “experience” sought by employers and parents of children who would be in their care. They also receive an end of summer performance appraisal as well as ongoing feedback and coaching from our staff. Junior Counsellors receive an honorarium each week.

Auditions for Junior Counsellors are held in the Spring of each year. Applications are available at Dovercourt Recreation Centre or on our website www.dovercourt.org. Prerequisites include: Leaders In Training Program, Standard Level First Aid, Level C CPR and High Five.
