| Financial
Assistance
As a registered charity, Dovercourt is committed to ensuring
that its programs and services are available to all in our
community. While we strive to make our programs affordable,
sometimes families and individuals may need financial assistance
to help cover program costs. Please complete the application
at the customer service desk if you need financial assistance.
Rogers Yahoo
Internet Café and NeoLore Networks Hot Spot
The
Rogers Yahoo Internet café offers four free computer
stations with access to the internet, and is located in the
centre lobby on the upper level. For those of you with laptops
and other devices that have wireless Internet capability,
Neolore Networks has sponsored a hot spot for you at Dovercourt.
Connect from almost anywhere in the centre!
Ask our Customer
Service staff for the computer rules and information.
Allergy Alert
Dovercourt is an allergy aware facility, so please identify
any items that may cause an anaphylactic reaction for you
or your child. While we will ask that these items not be brought
to individual camps and programs, due to the number of people
visiting our centre on a daily basis, we cannot ban substances
that may cause allergic reactions from the centre as a whole.
Staff is trained in the administration of epi-pens in the
event of emergency.
Special Needs
Dovercourt is committed to the inclusion of people with special
needs in all of our programs and services. Please make us
aware of any issues of medication, mobility, or other resources
that you or your child may need to participate at the time
of registration.
Emergency
Reception Centre
Dovercourt Recreation Centre has been designated an emergency
reception centre by the City of Ottawa. In the event of a
major disaster requiring evacuation, Dovercourt and its staff
and volunteers will provide registration, shelter, food and
care for our community and others. Should this occur, all
regular programs and services will be suspended.
Taking
photos & videos in the Centre:
We like to visit our programs and take pictures from time
to time. We take every effort to obtain permission from the
participants and their parents at the time. Please let us
know if you are shy.
- We proudly include pictures of
our program clients in our brochure, on our website and
in promotional materials directed to our clients
- We include a waiver on our receipts
and as part of our online registration process to let you
know that we “reserve the right to use photographs
and videos of our programs and special events for promotional
purposes”
- For the protection of children,
we do ask you to sign in before taking photos or videos
of your little ones in our programs
Please contact the Director of Administration
at 798-8950 ext 223 if you have any questions or concerns
about your privacy at Dovercourt.
Our photos
Thanks to all of our photographers, Marilyn Mikkelsen, staff
and our patrons for the great photos of our clients and programs
in action. We are proud to say that all of the photos in our
brochure, and on our Web site, are of our clients in action
in our programs. If you have expressive photographs of family
members in Dovercourt programs, bring them in and we might
use them in our next brochure or on the web.
